I don't have a favorite either but I have to say that I was hooked from the first few pages when reading Under the Dome. I think the only book I haven't read was the (forget the exact title) - Blockbuster Billly? has a photo of a baseball player? (saw it on Amazon but it's maybe an ebook or something?). I've always been a fan and presumably always will be.

Blockade Billy? It's really pretty good. It was a short read.

Thanks, maybe that's why I didn't buy it (not worth it to me for a really short book) - I'll have to check at the library.

The Stand.

Cell.

Stephen's detailed descriptions of the fall of society in these is incredible. You can practically play the movie version in your head.

Man's a horror genius and icon.

It's hard to pick just one! For me, The Stand and The Talisman.

I started re-reading all of his books back in May. I've read 23 so far. It's been a learning experience. Now that I'm older I enjoy those books of his that I never finished because I didn't like them. When the Talisman first came out I gave up after only a couple of pages. The stupidity of my youth. Now I love The Talisman.

Just finished Dolores Claiborne and I enjoyed it so much better this time around. Now it's time for Misery.

I loved The Talisman. But my favorites would be The Stand & On Writing. No one writes like Stephen King.

HA!!! Brilliant. I've never read either book/series/whatever, but it's still funny as anything!

I looked into this thread, by the way, because I remember watching most of The Green Mile on DVD a million years ago, but then never finishing it for some reason. I was thinking that I'd get the book.

I'm not a fan of scary or horror or sci-fi, and I think that I'd like to read The Green Mile as long as it's not quite as wordy, wordy, wordy as all of his other books.

If you're really not into Horror and don't want anything too thick, check out:

Different Seasons, which is a collection of 4 novellas, one of which was the basis for The Shawshank Redemption.

The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon.
