Did something change? All of the schools I attended had libraries and we utilized them. Additionally, the Free Public library was available for lending to all comers with a home address and for in-house reading if there was no domicile. Many times, it was necessary to use the Free Public library because all of the source materials at the school library were in use.

To supply free e-books to disadvantaged children presupposes that they will have an e-reader; not all do.

Ridiculous. Libraries exist. Maybe promoting them would help kids read more.

How are these low income kids affording e-readers in the first place?
