I wanted to give it a good shakedown before I wrote anything.

It's very good.

I expect to save the purchase price in about a year.

It's easy to use, easy to read and easy to load with text-choose a book, type it into the device, and it appears a few minutes later, automaticly charged to your credit card.

A twenty five dollar book costs ten bucks-and it's stored so you can read it again.

The only annoyance is the number of buttons that activate very easily, it's hard to hold the thing without accidently turning the page-however, going back is just as easy.

No trip to the store, no wait for sold out titles and no need to pay full price for new titles.

At $9.99 for a new release, no waiting for the paperback.

For me, not having to lick my finger every time I want to turn a page is a joy-and the device won't lose your place, either.

A must have for every serious reader-and it has adjustable text size, too.

Saves time, saves money, convenient, portable and easy to read in sunlight, what's not to like?

At $359, delivered, a good investment.

But I like waiting for up to 2 weeks for a book to arrive in the mail!!!
And I especially like squinting while reading in the sun!!!
Actually sounds like something I'll look into...Have heard so many good things about it...even from old Folks (like me) who hate new gadgets!!!
Thanks

It works!

I'm 61, and no fan of gadgets, and I like it.

You also have the option of carrying several books, if you do that.

Just the thing for a trip, or a long temperory stay.

It comes with a nice little case, too.

Question... can you highlight sections of the text?

Yes, and make annotations, too.

You can also read footnotes immediately.

And save sections to refer to.

Get instant access to Wikipaedia, too.

I wonder if they have the ''Necronomicon''?

Kindle will do anything a book can do-it'll be great for textbooks.

Most of my annotations are things like ''Zounds!", ''Stone the crows!'' and ''Caramba!", but I'm sure others will find this feature useful.

I'm glad I got one.

It feels very like a book, about the same weight.

I know what you mean about the smell of books-I find that comforting, too, reminds me of the magic of times past, when there were so many books and too little time.

But saving time, expense and trouble have won me over.

Another feature, your library is backed up at Amazon, so if your Kindle is lost or stolen, you can recover it quickly.

For reading fiction, it's great-for reference books you use a lot, perhaps less so.

A good tool-but a hammer is not a screwdriver.

Does it have the ability to enlarge the text? I'm thinking of ordering one because the font in regular books is just too small for me to read anymore.
