A reminder to all hoopy froods that Towel Day is only a week away! Towel Day is an annual celebration on the 25th of May, as a tribute to the late author Douglas Adams (1952-2001). On that day, fans around the universe proudly carry a towel in his honour. And remember, Don't Panic!
Yow! That's right in Oz it's tomorrow now! God bless you
Yep! I am Future Girl!
I checked out the linen closet but it's so precariously stacked in there lately I'm a bit loathe to mess with it or I'll spend the day juggling towels. (of course the one that I felt was suitably festive enough for the occasion is wedge right at the back! )
We were just musing that we might go get a packet of potato crisps and eat them instead, more our kind of tribute!
As we say goodbye to this year's celebration, please enjoy these two things. First a delightful story about an encounter Douglas Adams had in a British train station (http://everydaysaholiday.org/2008/05/25/towel-day/ - broken link)
And a collection of photos from around the globe (over 1700 as I write): Flickr: Towel Day 2009 (http://www.flickr.com/search/?s=rec&q=towelday&m=tags - broken link)
