I'm having a hard time trying to narrow down list, but I will start with in no particular order

Jack Reacher ---- Lee Child's novels

Dirk Pitt ---Clive Cussler's novels

Alex Delaware----James Patterson

Christopher Snow---Dean Koontz

Tomorrow I'm sure my list will be different.

So who am I missing

I agree with Christopher Snow - I enjoy his adventures through the night hours.
Odd Thomas leaves me scratching my head. I am reading Odd Hours right now and have found myself saying aloud, "this is boring me", which is highly unusual for a DK book. The other Odd books were all great, so I have no doubt the ending of this one will surprise me.

My favorite characters are from a series by Celeste Deblasis. The Wild Swan trilogy encompasses the full life of Alex Thaine and Raine Falconer, distant cousins (who look like fraternal twins) who share a great love. Alex is 13 when they meet, Raine !8.

And then, there is always the wonderful Kent family from the whole Kent Family Chronicles by John Jakes.

Dirk Pitt, John Keller and Jack Reacher are good picks. I prefer J. A. Jances Seattle detective J. P. Beaumont to Sheriff Brady. Others that I follow are:

Charlie "Bird" Parker....John Connolly (Every Dead Thing is 1st book)
Bob Lee Swagger....Stephen Hunter
Det. Dave Robicheaux....James Lee Burke
Rand, Matt & Perrin in The Wheel of Time series....Robert Jordan
Noah Bishop & Special Crimes Unit (paranormal)....Kay Hooper
Dexter....Jeff Lindsay
Elvis Cole & Joe Pike....Robert Crais
Silent Joe....T. Jefferson Parker
Jesse Stone....Robert B. Parker

Too many books....so little time!
