Not this year !!!! When was the last time Boston didn't have any JANUARY THAW ?

it was 56 degrees on Jan 1. Guess that will have to do, lol.

I don't recall there being a real thaw last Jan, either, but could be wrong. Although little snow after 12/30/09, it was cold.. Am I right?

We did have 3 straight nites of 45 degrees around New Year's Eve which quickly melted that big post-Christmas snow -- unlike these past 2 storms!

But yes, we often see many highs in most Januarys in the 40s and 5s...true!

After all, the ave. high in Jan. Is around 37-38 in Boston.

But the past two early evenings have been pleasant due to little wind. Actually, I like that, and would miss it if moving to San Diego or similar.

There's often a brief mild spell at some point in January, but this is not the first winter I've seen without one. It really varies from year to year.
