Hello

Might be moving to Boston from Texas. Can anyone suggest any good places where we could rent a townhouse for a year or so. Good schools, commuting to Boston, low crime rate, near shopping district preferred.

J

Need more info. Budget? Area? "Boston" is the city proper, and is relatively small for a major city. Commuting by train or car, and to what area of Boston?
Best wishes on your move. With more info, I imagine posters can be much more helpful.

i am moving to Boston from dallas next month and just did this hunt. The most important point is what is your budget like and whether you are ok with driving into the city or you want to take the public system. That will define how close or far you want to stay. Also are you looking for a suburbia feel or a city feel, like brightdoglover said, boston city is small as compared to most cities here in Texas, but the surrounding areas vary based on what you are looking for..... oh do make sure you do a good request for COL..... it is expensive as compared to texas....

Also, where you'll be commuting to, because that will play a role as well. DaltoBoston gave you good advice, and you might go through his posts to see how the process went.
And Welcome to Boston both of you guys!
