Hello all, my family and I will be up in Boston in late August visiting for 3 nights. I have 3 sons so we plan on attending a Red Sox game as we've done in the past. The Angels are in town for a 3 game series so my son is excited to see Mike Trout play vs the current champs. I've used StubHub in the past and will probably do the same, but just wanted to see if there are any other outlets I could use for Red Sox tix? Also, are there any sections you would recommend at Fenway as being good seats, but not insanely expensive? Thanks in advance.

Ace Tickets is a popular venue in this area.

I think you could do better from walking up with a scalper, but I understand if you're traveling with a kid that may not be desirable.

Tickets ARE available on redsox.com for most games. Many games do not sell out, or just barely sellout. Oftentimes, it's 500-1500 seats short of capacity esp. weeknights. It's not like after the 2004 and 2007 World Series titles where tix were nearly impossible to get.

If they're still not playing well by then, scalpers will drop the prices. But you may not need a scalper if the box office and website have tickets.

"Great seats are available for most games" says the lighted sign I see now on Brookline Ave. at Yawkey Way.

Craigslist. Avoid the scalper scene on Gameday like the plague, and you will pay thru the nose at ticket agencies. I would throw an ad out there now..

90 minutes before the game starts at Gate C (Lansdowne St.) they have a "Scalp free zone" where you can get tickets they are exchanged for face value with a red sox employee as the third party.

Interesting.

Is it only for season ticket holders and for those subscribers of the mini plans...or could someone with tix bought just for that game participate?

If you were sans kid, buying from a scalper 20 minutes after the game starts can get you a good deal. I wouldn't do it at this stage of my life but I did when I was younger and got great deals.
