Hi. Me and my boyfriend are moving to Boston early January. We are 18 and 19. Looking for some tips for work and house/flats to rent? Any advice would be very appreciated

When you say "move here", how long are you talking about? Would you come over on a J-1?

For 3 months but hopefully an able to get sponsored for a year visa!

Only three months? Well if that's the case then having a car would be less likely so I'd look for something by the rail lines MBTA.com > Official Website for Greater Boston's Public Transportation System

I think things will be a bit quiet. The sports crowd will be mostly just the Bruins (NBA is without contract and Baseball doesn't really start until at least march).

They generally don't use the term flats here, it would be apartments. Lifts are called elevators.

It will be cold here and possibly some snow. If you aren't used to snow ask some of the tenants how the properties hold up.
