U.S. News Best Hospitals 2012-13: the Honor Roll - US News and World Report

Top performing hospital ranked in 16 specialties. Boston should be proud.

Three of the Honor Roll hospitals are located in New York City, and two—Brigham and Women's in addition to Mass General—are in Boston. No other city has more than one hospital in this select group.

Sunday1,

Thanks for this post as I am very proud of this city. I worked as an EMT part time for about a 10 year period and was in the Mass General along with other hospitals. I saw nothing but respful ways in treating patients. Most of my experience was in the ER. On another note, I remember a "Nurse Jackie" who was one of the best ER nurses ever. Great woman who was the real person in charge of that ER.

And Dana-Farber is ranked #5 in the country for cancer care. I was treated at Newton-Wellesley, but have participated in young adult programs and gotten several 2nd opinions at Dana-Farber and they have been amazing. When I was feeling anxious during a relapse scare, they pulled together a bone marrow transplant team for me to meet so in case I was relapsing (false alarm), I would know what to expect and who I would be working with. Amazing people and phenomenal doctors and nurses.

Good for MGH. I have a few friends that work as nurses there. Boston is fortunate to be home to probably the finest collection of medical facilities in the country between MGH, Brigham, Beth Israel, Children's Hospital, Spaulding, Mass Eye and Ear, Joslin and Dana Farber.
