Hi!
I have the opportunity to visit this weekend, and I am looking forward to exploring!

I'll have all day Friday and Saturday to myself for wandering. I like art galleries, museums, local markets, things that I cannot see elsewhere.

Suggestions on where to go are appreciated... as are the areas to avoid (esp as I will be alone and on foot - no car!).

Also, anyone have a favorite geocache area downtown? There are soooo many, I don't know which one(s) to go for.

One quick thought was somehwere along the Charles River , where on one end, there is the Science Museum and a LOONG westward walk brings you to the Museum of fine arts (with a little navigating). The walk along the Charles/Beacon St/Commonwealth ave is pretty neat with lots of good eateries and a good place to be on foot. Hotels/motels vary. If you look at a map of where the Charles River meets Boston Harbor, that is where the Science Museum is. You can do alot on a walking tour in a weekend.

If you have any time on Sunday morning, check out the SoWa Market in the South End:

Thanks for the suggestion! That market sounds awesome but the flight brought me home Sunday morning.

I thoroughly enjoyed your city, and I would welcome the opportunity to visit again. I especially liked the water taxi system... something I wish we would do here with our three rivers. We ate well, cruised a few wine bars, attended a gallery opening, walked a lot.... and I climbed to the top of the Bunker Hill monument!
