I'd buy a bike or a scooter, and take the bus in bad weather. Or uber/bridj/etc. Then get Zipcar or rentals for occasional country excursions.

True Bostonians. Trying to sell me on the romance of "I don't need a car." Heh. I'm from NY...

I do out of state weekends.

So far, been trying my luck with street parking, Southie.

I rue the day that I get back from my road trips and there are no spots ? (Summer.) But whatever.

Found a place wants $250 a month ...... I may as well take my lucky chances on the street..

I did too frequently (multiple times a month often enough), mostly Maine and Vermont. It was cheaper and easier by far to rent a car for those trips.

I only ended up getting a car when my office moved, and it sucks.
