Yep. Plus if you do end up finding street parking somewhere it's only a 25 dollar fee for an expired meter. Cheaper then many garages.

The proposal is for an expired meter fine to go from $25 to $40.

I wish they would increase and actually enforce the double parking ticket. I can't stand people blocking a full lane of traffic to go get their dunk'n.. Its the most selfish POS move in my book. also all the uber drivers that cause the same congestion for the same reasons.

I used to work in the South End on Washington St near Peters Park. We didn't have enough parking for everyone and used to double park 5-6 cars. Luckily, it was wide enough for traffic to pass. When we would see a meter maid coming, we'd announce it and there would be a scramble to move cars. Boss would pay the tickets but driving around the block for 10 minutes was a productivity killer.

So everyone one else in the city should suffer because your company doesn't like to lose 10 minutes of productivity? This is the exact mentality that causes these problems.

I've seen them giving tickets for double parking, but almost always to normal plates. Commercial vehicles are the majority of the problem and given a free pass. It's offensive. They really need to crack down on the TNC (Uber, Lyft, etc.) drivers. Those cars have quickly become a menace to the city.

I was only stating what happened. Most of us enjoyed the break because the owner didn't have enough parking. BTW, I said I worked there - it was 20 years ago, before the advent of SOWA. I preferred double parking on Washington instead of parking on the side streets - never knew if I'd find a used condom left on the hood of the car.

AFAIK, they no longer do that as the double parking lane is now a bus lane.
