Gang rode the Red and Green lines with a crowbar at rush hour, robbing and beating people, police say

Transit Police report arresting three of the four people they say got on the Red Line at Harvard with a crowbar, then used it to threaten people they beat and robbed on a trip that ended at the Fenway Green Line stop, where they got off a trolley and smashed the crowbar into a person's face before running towards Brookline Thursday afternoon.

Police say they found Parrish Jones, 25, of Dorchester, William Windham, 21, of Brockton and a Dorchester teen too young to have her name released, after an "exhaustive area search." The hunt for the fourth person continues, police say.

Pretty crazy.

The Boston incidents are starting to sound more and more like what is reportedly going on in NYC.

It's no longer confined to transit stations in historically bad neighborhoods either. No, these hoodlums are now targeting the rich, the young, and the unsuspecting. Harvard? Fenway? A decade or two ago I'd never have thought those would be stations where someone would get attacked by a crowbar. Sure there was crime and violence on the T back then but often during off hours or at some quiet part of the station and not at frequented stations like Harvard. Nowadays it seems like these perpetrators feel like attacking anyone at any place because they can. Note their ages, 16, 21, and 25 - all Gen Z, the generation influenced and emboldened by social media, sometimes in a very bad form. If this bad behavior is not quelled, Boston will revisit its bad old days and perhaps in much worse form.

What's probably one of the most dangerous areas of the city, is finally getting foot patrols after all this time.

Good.

I've always said, problems get solved only when they impact everyone, not just poor and marginalized communities.

Wouldn't there be many cameras around Mass and Cass nowadays, both for the constant negative antics of its inhabitants alone, never mind the traffic nightmare at times?

But I don't recall reading about possible cameras for police to check in stories on this sad situation.
