Has it been moving north? Are they going to clean it up? I'm seeing a massive increase in scuzzos near the Pizza joint on Mass Ave & Columbus where I like to get a bite after a concert. Is it even safe to be around there or park a car? Last week some guy was screaming unintelligibly while walking down the street there and last night people were walking around saying can someone help me get some food?!?! It was never that bad there before the pandemic.

New York Pizza? I was there a few weeks ago and it didn't seem noticeably worse than it's been. Was this very recently?

Also the trendy re-branding is "Mass & Cass". "Methadone Mile" is so 2015.

Yes. Near NY Pizza. Last night and last week. I have not been there in 18 months since the Symphony shut down. I don't remember it being that bad pre-pandemic.

There's been "scuzzos" all over for years. It was absolutely just like that before the pandemic.

You can find them up by Mass ave & Boylston. Addicts frequently sleep on the steps at BSO too, under the awning on Mass Ave. The benches in a dozen parks. Copley Square. Your favorite stores on Newbury after closing.

These aren't people to fear. They're hurting themselves far, far more than they want to hurt you.

The Mass & Cass epicenter has actually moved slightly east, toward South Bay. It's quite the tent city over there now.

I have never seen that. I know there have been scuzzos around but never this bad. I never saw homeless sleeping on the benches at Chester Square until last week either.

They’ve been sleeping in Chester Park for years. They’re more likely to sleep out on warmish days, so if your pre-pandemic experiences around there were mostly on rainy/cold days, you might not have seen them, but rest assured they’ve been around for a while now.

This was the feature article in last week's Boston Globe. Quite the bleak picture.

This was from today:

And this:

Sounds like these people need to be kicked out of there. It isn't healthy for anyone. Send them to Vermont.

While they are running around ensuring that toddlers and house pets are masked, they will have bubonic plague breeding down there. These people are nothing short of geniuses. Let's re-elect them all. Oh, I forgot, we always do.
