I'm a Software Developer (Java, C#.NET), and am considering moving closer to my sister who lives there. I was just wondering how the job market is doing in the Boston metro area. Do companies normally look for outside talent for software jobs?

I work in technology for a large financial services company in Boston. I would say the tech job market is picking up. The hiring area isn't just Boston, however, it's really anywhere inside of Route 495, the beltway that encircles metropolitan Boston about 30 miles outside of the city.
