There's a fast developing wildfire west of Boulder, up fourmile canyon. Wildfire in Boulder's Fourmile Canyon

It's very dry, and very windy today; it's a serious fire. Many homes are in the path of the fire, several homes reported destroyed already.

It did develop fast. My husband and son went to Home Depot and when they came out, the plume was huge here in Longmont.

Neditate - let us know you are okay!!!!!

Nederland Community Center is serving as one of the evacuation centers. North Boulder Rec Center and New Vista HS in Boulder are the two others so far. Longmont Humane Society is housing pets whose families have been evacuated, and Boulder County Fairgrounds in Longmont will accommodate large animals who have been evacuated.

It's grey and smokey out there! Hope all are safe.

According to the Camera, there is an overnight shelter being run by the Red Cross at the Coors Events Center.

Thank you for your concern!
I've been on pins and needles all day. We first saw the smoke around 10:45 am. We are SW of the fire but all it would take is a change in wind direction and ! We had 65 mph gusts this morning. I've got everything packed and ready in case of evacuation.

God bless the folks in Four Mile, Sugarloaf, Sunshine, Gold Hill and any other affected areas. This is a bad one.

We haven't had a drop of rain in a month and very warm temps, then the wind. I could see several campfires last night and a huge bonfire on Saturday night. I have been worried about something like this happening for the past few weeks.

Probably won't sleep too well tonight. That eerie orange glow in the dark sky is disconcerting. I've been taking photos and video all day. Maybe I can post some.

Thank you Katiana!
DH is a volunteer firefighter and will be on scene at 6 am.
