Take a real good look at Superior and be careful. They had water problems soon after developing the area and now get water from Louisville. They sit on top of an old cool mine and it caught fire about 150 yrs ago and is still burning under the city. There is a vent hole on the Davidson Mesa to the northwest on the way to Boulder near Marshall and it can be seen venting gases and glows some at night. I have seen the satalite infa red photos that clearly show the fire area and it goes all under the Rock Creek subdivision and the town hall and retail developed area. So beware!

But it is a nice community close to great trails and the foothills.
The housing is not too expensive and the schools are good.

Old Superior had a water problem. People were trucking in water. Then Richmond Homes came in and offered to fix the water problem in exchange for being allowed to build a huge housing development. I am not aware of any fires under Superior. I know there is coal burning under the Marshall Mesa. That is why it is Boulder Co open space instead of a housing development. Many places in the metro area have problems with expansive soils. A friend had a home in the Lac Amora subdivision of Broomfield with that problem. It is not unique to Superior.
