My family will be going to Toronto in a couple of months to visit relatives. On the way we will be stopping in Buffalo, which will include lunch. Of course I want to find the best Buffalo Wings. I have heard the Anchor Bar is very good. Any other recommendations? Thanks!

Anchor Bar for the history, but Duff's in Amherst is a great place. Tons of variety!

The best place for wings in Buffalo is Duff's.

From wikipedia:

Quote:
Duff's Famous Wings is a small restaurant chain, located near Buffalo, New York. The restaurant's specialty is serving Buffalo-style chicken wings.
The original location of Duff's is at the intersection of Sheridan Drive (Route 324) and Millersport Highway (Route 263), in Amherst, New York. The restaurant was opened in 1948 by Louise Duffney as a tavern. In 1969, Duff's served its first batch of wings, and it quickly became famous[citation needed]. Duff's now has a reputation for having some of the best wings around Buffalo.
In 1998, Duff's opened a location in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. In 2002, a location opened in Orchard Park, NY. In 2007, Duff's opened their second location in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Duff's slogan is "WARNING: Medium IS HOT, Medium Hot IS VERY HOT, Hot IS VERY, VERY HOT"
But the picture is mine

editted to add that London & I were posting at the same time.... Great minds thinking alike again.

My personal favorite is La Nova's. Great pizza and especially barbecue wings. Gosh, I miss Buffalo's food!

If you go to Duff's, you will not only end up eating a ton of wings, you will also smell like them!

If they have never had wings in Buffalo before, you take them to the Anchor. Start with the birthplace of the b-wing, and then on future trips search around and form your own opinion.

Duff's (on sheridan) by far the best. read the menue carefully when ordering. They give you a translation. If you want Hot - you order medium. If you order hot, they will be suicide.

The picture I used in my last past is of the Amherst location, but I find the location in Orchard Park to have a little more elbow-room, no difference in taste between the two locations.
