Is there any such place around wny (especially the southtowns)with reasonably decent food? Golden isn't that great but they have a large selection that we like to offer to our very picky toddlers. The toddlers don't seem to like Chinese at all and those are the only buffet places I've seen around.
We used to have Golden Corral on Transit Rd at least 5 years ago. It went out of business. Old Country Buffet is not good in my opinion. The best buffet and the only somewhat decent one is the Seneca Niagara Casino. Go on a weekday, the weekend wait times are just too long.

We went to the Country Buffet near the Boulevard Mall one night after shopping .... the food was awful, the place was a mess & the parking lot outside was basically gangland central. I've been to CB's in Texas & Colorado that were very good (and clean).

Gangland Central in Amherst? LOL
Never been to that CB but the one near Easter Hills is ok, Though I would rather go to Ponderosa. Seneca Casino Buffet is the best in the region by far - same as you would find in Vegas or AC.

The area around NF Blvd isn't the safe quiet suburban Amherst everyone raves about.

Never been a murder near that area- ever according to ky co workers. Unsafe for Amherst would be the safest part of most cities though, so I guess it's all relative.
Just pack the family in the car and drive to the Golden Corral in Erie, PA. Get off on the Peach Street exit. It's like a 90 minute drive. Just pack some chloroform in case the kids get restless.
The one Old Country Buffet in Rochester is just about my favorite place, usually. And I stopped in to look at a Golden Corral in North Carolina and the food was frighteningly unkempt. I didn't eat there.
