Rochester user: "...Of course Rochester sucks compared to NYC, but that's not a fair comparison at all..."

Fair, rational post.

Replace "Rochester" with "Buffalo" and you get something that has never been written or spoken, anywhere, ever (at least not by anyone from Buffalo). NYC is that place where we send all our electricity right? Niagara Falls is what keeps the lights on at Wall St!

I think its great idea in theory, but it will never happen. There is simply way to much wide open county between the two cities. All this wide open country gives the feel of taking a trip to another city versus heading down the road to the other part of town. To me there is just no feel of connectivity like with Dallas-Fort Worth. If BUF and ROC were maybe 30 miles closer then i could see a much stronger relationship.

Exactly. And with the back to the city movement, sprawl being viewed negatively, little chance of a new Bills stadium being built between Buffalo and Rochester, no prospect of a regional airport or high speed rail link anywhere on the horizon, not to mention the cultural and political issues, I see both cities turning inward, not looking to think or act regionally.

Build a hyperloop transit system connecting the two cities.
