Linda_d, funny you mention 16th, thats where my house is, anyways, growing up it was all Italians, in my early teens more latinos moved into the neighborhood. Still have quite a few friends that live in the area, some moved to the suburbs also. As long as Mineo and Sapios is still there I'm good !!
Also, are parts of the West Side getting refugees/immigrants? I was curious, because in Syracuse, the North Side neighborhoods just north of Downtown were also predominately Italian for a long time, but has become a landing spot for refugees/immigrants.
West Side, Riverside and Black Rock are a melting pot. 42 languages spoken at Lafayette High School. Large Burmese population in upper West Side and Black Rock. http://www.buffalospree.com/Buffalo-...ees-settle-in/
This sounds just like parts of Syracuse's North Side and it is nice to see some investment/entrepreneurship in the neighborhood.
Does anyone know if Grover Cleveland High is still around? I think the name has changed(I want to say International Prep), but I think it is in the same building.
