Usually Phoenix isn’t the city that most from the area move to, but it may be a new move for some.

Might not be for for you, but all the people and business's moving to AZ and all the new developments, new skyscrapers going up everywhere downtown, midtown, Tempe, Scottsdale etc... New light rail, street car, sky train lines and freeways being built everywhere too and ground breaking on high speed rail lines coming soon.

You can't just build and build and build in a desert and not expect future water problems to arise. It is only a matter of time...

It's not going to happen in my life or likely my kids lifetime and even if it happens in 100 or 200 years, They will build Salt Water Purification Plants like the water purfication plants in CA or the one's in Dubai, UAE, Saudi Arbria etc... Gotta love Sunny and 85 tommorow in the desert going to be great weather for the PGA Phoenix Open this week

how to embrace winter?

Cross country skiing
Ice Fishing - some towns have an ice fishing winter celebration on the ice. hot food, ice skating, fishing, cars on ice, etc.
Bird watching, Bald Eagles love to eat the Merganser duck. If you see a flock out on big water, an eagle won't be too far away.
Hiking/snowshoeing- NY has amazing winter trails.
Snowmobiling.
Working indoors on crafts, etc.
bringing cut wood to your fireplace. They say wood heats you three times. When you cut the tree down, when you split it, and when you carry it into your home.

Skiing
Ski resorts
Festivals
Proximity to other large cities

I loved living in WNY because there was ALWAYS something to do in the winter. PLUS WNY snow storms seem to pass through fast which allows for more sun and less long term cloud banks.
