Anybody remember it? I think that was the name. Couldn't find it on google maps. Is it still there (different name)? Where exactly was it?

Are you talking about the Saturn Club? Delaware and Utica? Much older than 1950s though so maybe not.

I don't know. My parents had their wedding reception in this place in 1958. I ask my mom today and she said it was called the "Town and Country". I just tried calling her back to ask her about Saturn Club. No answer.

Would you (or anyone) recognize the interior? If so, I can post some color photos of the reception.

Here's one shot, July 1958

Only Town and Country I've ever heard of in WNY was just outside of Attica heading towards Darien...

That woman on the left looks just like my Mom did in the late 50's... weird. Plus my Fathers name is Charles...

Now she's not sure it was Town and Country, but it was some sort of club with "Town" in it on Delaware Street. It wasn't the Saturn Club. She's going to dig out her old wedding paperwork to see if it is mentioned.

Buffalo as an Architectural Museum

Try this site. Chuck LaChiusa, a real architecture buff, has photographed almost every building of note still in Buffalo

OK, I found out. It was the Town Club, 805 Delaware Avenue. Looks like it was torn town and a Jewish Library was built there.

From these historic aerials (use the swipe tool) you can see the overhead difference between 1958 and 2006:

That is the major Jewish Synagogue in the city.

It has stained glass by famed artist Ben Shahn
