Hello-

My husband and I will be visiting some family who recently moved to Vermont next week. Does anyone have any good ideas on what we should do? Good restaurants or bars?

Yesterday we enjoyed a dee-licious dinner at Vietnam II, located at 169 Church Street in Burlington. I liked it so much that I picked it for another meeting next week. Mmmmmm!

Earlier that beautiful afternoon, we sipped Switchbacks (yummy local brew) at Red Square on Church Street, where a dog spending his afternoon with us was welcome at the outside tables. A very sweet dog was enjoying an outing with his humans at the table next to us, too. I'd go back there.

Church Street can't be missed. There are tons of eateries in a few blocks and lots of shopping and entertainment. The Echo museum is close by as is the waterfront, a beautiful boardwalk along the lake and a restaurant on the pier. There are ferry rides (walk-on as well as taking the vehicle to New York) and lake cruises (not sure if they are all running yet).

Go to Vermont Pub and Brewery (on the corner of st paul st and college street). They brew their own beer and the pub grub is fantastic (and veryyyy inexpensive). There is a patio and on weekends in the summer they have live music outside. Also Burlington Bay has a nice patio with food and beverages available with a beautiful view of the adirondak mountains. Hope this helps!
