I do agree that even the things I mentioned above do get more popular and less popular through time, for example hockey used to be big years back the totally fell out of popularity and now its big again. Certain things have phases where they get hot and way more popular but certain things will never go out.
I'm aware I'm 4 pages behind here but I have to respond to this. Many things never go out of style, its just the way they are presented that changes. For example, as someone else brought up, movie theaters are going out of style, but movies are still demanded. The system of delivery is what changed.

Yes.

I have created 4 products from the 1980s to a few years back that were selling like hotcakes and once the fad wore off the product was either copied by the Japanese and ruined it or the fad died.

Back in the 1980s we created a "country" themed product that we had sold in 7 different gift marts across the USA and was extremely hot item. "country" theme died in the early 90's and the product lost it appeal so we went on to another item.

Then ebay hit us in 1995 and money was so much easier to make them manufacturing your own product line like we did.

Default hamburgers are back in!

Yes they have been around forever, but the expansion (like frozen yogurt is crazy).

In addition to the fast food places these so called gourmet burger places are sprouting up all over the place.
elevation burger,
Burger 7,
smash burger
five guys,
Red Robin,
Zburger
and the list goes on!

I love smashburger, 5 guys not bad, red robin been around for a while. i havn't heard of the rest must not be in my area yet. There's another new one near me called that burger place which I believe is owned by oberweiss the milk/icecream company.

I personally think these burger places are going to be like the Quiznos and the like in a few years, hot new trend that winds up being popular and then just an overpriced place to get a burger. I love smashburger but really if I want a good burger I can go down to the local bar and get a good burger for $5 with a free beer and fries as opposed to paying like $22 for two people to get a burger fries and a coke at these places.
