I really hate waiting for somebody to write a check. It irks me and I feel like they are stealing my time, and then I drive home and watch tv.
AMEN!!!!! How many times have I been behind someone checking out 200 bucks worth of groceries only to have them wait until the entire transaction is complete before even LOOKING for their checkbook? I mean, really people....is it so hard to do a little pre-writing while the cashier is scanning your groceries instead of twiddling your thumbs or checking your text messages? I am really excited to hear this news!
I can top all of your stories - I was behind someone at the self checkout at Harris Teeter the other day and she PAID BY CHECK. Yes, at the self checkout. No, she wasn't 80 years old. She probably in her late 30s. I was so shocked I almost forgot to give her the death glare. IT TOOK FOREVER and she seemed surprised!?
I really hope she never goes to NY and tries that - I was thisclose to saying something to her but decided I needed to keep my inner New Yorker in the bottle.
We only use cash, except at the gas pump. keeps us from spending more than we have.
Smart.
IMHO, people that tie-up the check-out line paying for a $1 pack of mints with a debit/credit card are more irritating than the check-writers.
