I am looking to move from a suburb of Vancouver BC, to Calgary this summer 2013. Probably mid august. Just wondering what the current job climate is like and if there is alot of jobs available still and if they pay decent? I am a professional working in the Logistics Admin field... (supply chain). Even not specific to this field, is their many jobs in general and are people hiring? If so, where are the jobs being posted, because there sure isn't many classified postings for homes and jobs in Calgary on craigslist! That being said, where are the postings (websites) for rental suites in calgary?
I would start looking for a job with placement agencies. Perhaps give them a call and they can give you a better idea on what to expect from the market.
I don't think Craigslist is used here in Calgary, but Kijiji is popular. You can also check out rentfaster.ca for apartment rentals. The rental market is VERY tight right now.
padmapper.com is probably the best rental tool...it groups all the major sites and puts the listing on a map
