Hi,
I thought I would start a new thread about how friendly Californians are!
I have lived here 23 years after moving from Wisconsin and have never found it to be rude or snotty. I have lived in a big town, and two small mountain towns.
I am sure there are areas where the people are snobby or less friendly as I am sure there are in any state but I haven't lived in them.
I think the west overall is a friendly area of the country as I have seen in Arizona, Oregon, Colorado and Nevada.

Anyone else want to say California is friendly and defend our state?

Out of curiosity, could you please mention those three towns?

I always found Californians to be friendly too. I'm originally from Ohio (which is friendly) but I thought when we moved to Calif it would be less friendly. (We moved to Thousand Oaks).

It was 1976 and I was excited to move to Calif but a little nervous inside. I was a preteen and all the teenage stuff you go through anyways on top of moving to CALIFORNIA was big.

I did not find that to be the case though. Californians welcomed us with open arms. I felt accepted fairly quickly (once I stopped wearing my flooded plaid Brady Bunch pants).

Anyways, California is different, that was very clear to me being I was from Ohio but it was different in a good way IMHO.

I'll never forget standing at my bus stop and looking at all the mountains around us and thinking that they looked like someone painted them there. They didn't look real to me, they looked like this huge beautiful painting.

If you want to see Californians act unfriendly, just light up a cigarette in the wrong spot

I did not know you could see the mountains through the smog and all the air pollution.
