In California, when I see a brown lawn, I think, that home just might be owned by a bank.

That's the only reason I like to see brown grass... it might be a bank owned
property that's affordable! But probably not yet...

Thank you Lexi - it is just a simple house built in 1950 that we have put a lot of work into...my husband built the fence and I do the gardening and the decorating.....and you are right, there is something very appealing about a nice green lawn.

Well, you two are an impressive duo. This house looks like it belongs
on "House Beautiful"! Seriously, it's gorgeous and if and when you ever
put it on the market...you should leave town the day you put it on..
spend the week somewhere great and then come back and sift through your
offers to pick the best one! Everyone will want it...If you don't mind me asking what state do you
live in?

The house is tiny and is about 5ft from the next house. I'd say she is in CA.

Green is the color of life and tells people you care about the condition of your house. Brown grass says you're lazy PWT unless its seasonally dormant.

I swear I've seen that house in Costa Mesa but I'm sure it could be anywhere in CA.

Actually the house isn't too tiny - it is 1700 square feet with a 650 square foot basement - 4 bedrooms, 2 baths....and we are in Southern California 10 minutes from the beach. Most of the homes in our area are between 800 and 1200 sf so ours is considered large for this area. The clearance between the homes (a lot more than 5 feet by the way) in our area is actually a lot more than the clearance between new homes that are being built....in our travels around the U.S. we are seeings lots of subdivisions being built with very little clearance between houses.

Wow, it's in California, it's beautiful and it's near the beach! It's hard to
attain all three of those... LOL yep, when you sell it will go fast. Of course
who would want to sell that home!
