So I was looking at this census 2010 publication http://www.census.gov/prod/cen2010/b...c2010br-05.pdf and it was saying California was near the bottom when it comes to non-hispanic white population loss in the 2000's. It declined 5.4% percent. But look at all of the rest of the western states in there change of non-hispanic whites...they all gained...

Utah 16.7%
Idaho 15.5%
Arizona 12.9%
Nevada 12.2%
Hawaii 11.6%
Wyoming 10.3%
Colorado 9.9%
Montana 7.5%
Alaska 7.4%
Oregon 5.2%
Washington 4.8%
New Mexico 2.5%
California -5.4%

5.4% = mass exodus? If 5.4 was an earthquake, we'd laugh it off.

Is that an "exodus," or is that because other populations have grown?

Just so you know, we moved from one of those western states to California. It is a great place to retire to.

The number of people leaving California is signifantly smaller due to the sour economy nationwide.

This article came out last week on the issue:
