THERE (not "their") are one Indian and two Thai restaurants. No "middle eastern". You might want to work on your written English if you're going to be seeking employment here.

You have never had a there/their/they're typo? Never? I was checking Yelp and it appears there is a Greek/Mediterranean place in Arcata called the Kebab Cafe.

I thought he was asking if his friends restaurants were in town. Rahamesh and Aromdee. They moved up there a while ago and opened restaurants.

Eureka, is very isolated. San Luis Obispo is located between San Francisco and LA, so is less isolated. I'm not sure why one poster posted that if you're more of an "urban type" you'd like SLO better.

Its still less than 50,000 and largely glorious central coast rural countryside with rolling ranches, vineyards, lichen covered oak woodland, etc. when you get out of SLO, and although certainly warmer than Eureka, the central coast is certainly foggier and chillier than SoCal.

Of course Eureka is in the heart of Californias best redwood forests. Makes Muir Woods in Marin, or the Santa Cruz mountains look like little stands.

-jobs - Not sure if either are going to have great job markets. Both are small metropolitan areas without much industry. I think if you're professional (doctor, lawyer), you can do well in either place. If you're a business person, not sure if either are great. SLO may be marginally better, as its a bit larger of a metropolitan area.
-transportation - One freeway in SLO (101). 101 also runs through Eureka, but it becomes a 2 lane highway in places. Ehh, neither are great.
-shopping and dining - I guess there's a bit more in shopping/dining options in SLO, but again, neither are San Francisco. lol.
-schools - Not sure, but I know SLO has some pretty good schools here.
-crime - I don't think either are particularly high in crime. Probably more drug offenses in SLO.
-climate - SLO has much less rain, but I think the lushness makes Eureka prettier. Both have lots of cool fog in the summer, but as SLO is a bit inland, the days can get a lot warmer.
-culture - Both are smaller college towns. SLO is a bit more boutiquish and has a bit of the surf culture with Pismo. Eureka is more of the pot smoking/Seattle grunge culture.
-economy - Neither are great, but SLO is a bit better.

Your inquiry was about Eureka, not Arcata. Good luck to you.

The economic base of the city was originally founded on timber and fishing and supplying gold mining efforts inland. Gold mining diminished quickly in the early years and activities of timber and fishing have also diminished, especially in the latter decades of the twentieth century. Today, the major industries are tourism, timber (in value), and healthcare and services (in number of jobs). Major employers today in Eureka include the following governmental entities: College of the Redwoods, The County of Humboldt, and the Humboldt County Office of Education. St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka is now the largest private employer in Eureka.[59]
