Magical, indeed. That particular area of California is, by far, the most beautiful I've ever seen. Next best is the beauty of the Sierras but nothing compares to the coast, imo.

Thanks, HereOnMars. I actually did the photo contests for a while here and won a number of times including photo of the year once with this one of Big Sur at night. This is the same coastline as in the photos above a little south of Carmel Highlands:

Haha, thanks for the compliment NoMoreSnowForMe. There's not really a short answer to this one. Night photography is kind of an art in itself. As such it takes a lot of planning and practice along with using certain kinds of equipment and techniques.
