This was in my news feed on Facebook so it doesn't look like there's an article yet.

BREAKING: The California Legislature just voted to allow driver's licenses for immigrants in the U.S. illegally. Do you think that was the right call?

The only folks I can see profiting from this is the insurance companies, for the mandatory liability insurance for CA drivers.

Otherwise, I think it will encourage illegal aliens to come to CA to get legal IDs. If it were only farm workers, etc., that would be one thing, but that won't be the extent of it. If you were a terrorist trying to get into the US, and you knew you could get a legal ID in CA, where would you go? It scares me.

Yeah, because there are millions of terrorists running around the United States, so we should base our laws on the fear of them.

Illegals are a part of our community for the foreseeable future. Since they do drive around every day, I'd rather they have licenses and insurance for when they get into accidents. Better to bring them into the system than pretend they aren't there.

California love and encourages illegals to sneak into it and stay. The biggest problem is that they have no respect for our sovereignty as a country or our federal or state laws; especially not California's. They give them every reason not to. Enjoy!

Here's the irony. My car was hit by a driver with no license. Because they were an "Uninsured Driver" my insurance paid 100%. But when my car was hit by an "Insured Driver," I had to pay the $500 deductible. Go figure!

This way the state will know where all of the "illegals" live. And this is a bad thing because...?

The licenses will have "Driving Priviledges Only" in large red letters (a scarlett letter, it you will), so how much of a "legal ID" they will be remains to be seen. Terroists don't need to mess with the new licenses as most likely they gets theirs by other means - why would they announce their location to the govt???

Wow, some serious overreactions to this post.

Can we stop calling them "illegals"? They are people and you need to stop dehumanizing them. An "illegal" is not a thing.
