We visited a glacier in Canada and saw how it compared today against a picture from 1900. The retreat was incredibly dramatic and it painted a very stark picture. I cannot comprehend how you can deny this.

Seriously? You don't care about sources?
So far we have seen Breitbart and FOXNews and Wall Street Journal (owned by Murdoch who owns FOX) ... and Reuters. Reuters is the only non-aligned source of the four. Reuters is a good source. FOX and WSJ can be legitimate, but are often suspect (highly). Breibart is completely antithetical to real journalism.

Anyway, I browsed the sources ... and it does appear to be a legitimate discussion going on. However, the OP here, like most emotionally invested ideologues, is grossly misunderstanding the debate; a careful reading of which does not draw the conclusion that anthropogenic climate change is a lie, nor that it is not a serious concern. Read carefully and you will find that the challenge is to accuracy of modeling -- which may be leading to inaccurate timeline estimates. That's interesting and important. But it is not obviation of social responsibility to alter our toxic culture. If it turns out that modeling was too aggressive, it would only mean we are very lucky to have perhaps enough time to reduce our impact on the problem and adjust for what change is inevitable.

Remember, the rates of change being observed -- whether they will result in the rise in temperatures at the most aggressive rates projected or not -- are the most dramatic ever charted in history. And the charting of the earth's climate change history is very accurate. The projections may be off ... but the observation that change is occurring at a never before rate is fact.

But people should still be concerned about global warming, Fitzpatrick says.
"The paper in no way diminishes the extensive body of observations that global warming is happening and that it is largely due to human activity," she added.

Uh, yes.

The UN is releasing a report on global warming not happening any longer.

Dialing Back the Alarm on Climate Change - WSJ.com

The Sea Ice instead of melting, in 2013 has grown at a record high level, another indication of global warming going away.

Earth Gains A Record Amount Of Sea Ice In 2013 — ‘Earth has gained 19,000 Manhattans of sea ice since this date last year, the largest increase on record’ | Climate Depot

The problem is not global warming, it is air pollution. California is by far the leader in producing air pollution. Tens of thousands of people die each year due to air pollution, and half of those that die in the nation from air pollution are from California.

Instead of going after the air pollution with false reasons such as global warming, go after cutting air pollution each year for peoples health reasons.

Well, dang, TFY, I'm impressed. You're a scientist. I didn't think you had it in you. Here I thought you were just a far left shill for the Dems on the payroll of the DNC. My apologies!

People deny what they cannot understand. To these types, a gas they cannot see makes no sense at trapping heat, therefore, it's just made up. Ask farmers how the growing season has shifted north and how trees dependent on a chilly period are not producing the blossoms and therefore the fruit they did just 20 years ago. Farmers are not known for taking sides on the political spectrum so long as they can grow their crops. However ask these types and there's a conspiracy in there.

Nope. That sea ice situation was spoken about and if you find a reasonable source, it will tell you that it's not a sign that global warming has halted. This is why I prefer the term "climate change" as global warming to the average person translates to it literally getting warmer everywhere and they can see of feel it which is not the case.

Also, the air pollution you speak of contains many greenhouse gasses which contribute to climate change so the two are not mutually exclusive.

OR it could be more evidence that we can fall into another ice age very quickly. You may want to check out Not By Fire But By Ice by Robert Felix

No, the AGW crowd started calling it "climate change" as more and more scientists brought in more and more research to counter the bad information that the AGW climatologists were spreading around.

Let's see - 114 of 117 global warming predictions overstated. Predictions of ever increasing numbers and extremes of hurricanes wrong. Resorting to the use of single storms to make a case for this last supposition by the AGW crowd. Never a mention of The Little Ice Age as a part of any equation, Apparent lack of understanding of the components of climate change, including the very important one of precession and the precession cycle. The list is endless.

But in the long run you have been proven correct. Sooner of later the climate will have changed.
