You're entitled to your opinion, however silly it may be.

California is a worldwide giant in argriculture.

People not from the LA area tend to cop a superiority complex about the place when they're discussing it, it's almost a competition thing. They love to say that their city's <insert> is better than LA's. Sometime they're right, but many times they're laughably off.

I have family in Houston who swear their beaches are better than ours. Uh huh you bet.

I know. I remember I joined a group on facebook that was based in LA, and the admin got annoyed with me because I live in Orange County (but like one mile from the county border, so like it really matters...) and I told him that it's still in the LA area, as it the Inland Empire and Ventura, then he said I couldn't handle 'the truth', and then booted me from the group. Someone I know is friends with him too and whenever Orange County is brought up he has to b*tch and moan about how Orange County is NOT in the LA area and get all superior about it too. He's not the only one I know who does this either.

"Everyone thinks you surf"....If you are in Iowa, just say Of course! What're they gonna do, test you? LOL

When I was in HS, went to Missouri for summer break, and of course I was instantly a druggie from CA. All teens in CA are druggies, right?

Most of these, though, ring true, as far as what people expect.

The Mexican food in NC is horrible. Chili Relleno's are a joke. One place put in ground beef. Seriously?
I get lost now without the mountains to tell me if I'm going north of south.

21) Once you breathe clean air in a state with friendly, down to earth people and realize you are actually free to live your life without a permit or a license for everything you do, in a state with a healthy economy, jobs to be found and without millions of illegals ruining your new state, you'll never want to see the hell hole known as California again.

Excellent. Can you please tell your comrades who are still writhing in anger out here to make a beeline out your way? A grateful state thanks you for your efforts. Now back to your neighborhood watch duties.

I don't know if its just familiarity or something else, but regardless where you're from California you're a bit of a different breed. My brother and his family moved to Kentucky in the 90s. My mom, sister and myself decided to drive out to visit them for a few weeks. It was a fun trip and we enjoyed traveling there and back, but I vividly remember driving over the Tehachapis into the San Joaquin Valley on the way home. They had a pretty wet spring that year and the hills were all green and covered with California poppies. There was a string of clouds on the opposite side of the valley from us and for once Bakersfield's air was clean. As we drove through the orange orchards heading down the hill my sister (who always gripes about California) muttered "Eat your heart out Kentucky!".
