u forget ghetto parts of long beach and i'd say parts of riverside r pretty bad too.

But i would say Oakland, Stockton, and Richmond r the worse.

the whole central valley pretty much being just bad. fresno, bakersfield, merced, visalia, lebec, tulare, and the rest r so bad. modesto and clovis r think the safest in the valley. visalia would be third safest.

a shame we have salinas hear in the central coast. thankfully here in santa maria things r getting better. We r getting an ICE facility and i'm sry if you disagree, but i think it will help

East San Jose around Story and King deserves a mention, there is a sizable latino gang presence. Still, it's nothing like West or East Oakland though, or even Bayview in SF.

North Richmond, Marin City, and East Palo Alto, very small & isolated communities, used to be the worst. One year North Richmond had 10 murders with a total population of around 4,000. Not sure what would qualify now, as gentrification has changed most cities, but it seems the Central Valley (other than Sacto) will probably eventually have the most crime just because of less chance of gentrification and economic opportunities for the people there.

Yeah, forgot about Long Beach and Riverside. Parts of Salinas are also bad, as well as the Central Valley, as you stated.

Here's neighborhood scouts Top 100 most dangerous cities list for the U.S. Could be a good place to start when talking about "ghetto hoods".

Top 100 most dangerous places to live in the USA - NeighborhoodScout

Only 1 California city in the Top 10, you all can guess which city that is.

Another interesting CA city on the list, Atascadero.

Crime does not equate to a ghetto. Plus, cities differ in the number and size of neighborhoods, as well as population, density, and area size. So, city crime ranking lists would be a terrible and misleading place to start.

Again. You've been provided with facts.

I'd also look at population of those counties. LA is the largest county, so by mass of county size it will have more. Now, look at San Bernardino and Fresno County. Those counties aren't nearly as big as LA county, but have alot of gangs.

That's partially true but also partially wrong. High crime is an undesirable trait associated with "ghetto" cities. Oakland has tons of it.

Also not all crime is gang related. Gangs are just part of the problem. In terms of crime, Los Angeles has much less per capita than Oakland, gang related or not.
