In case some people don't have common sense/courtesy during a drought, the state will now be issuing fines for lawn-watering, spraying, etc.

More silly nonsense from the state instead of dealing with the real issue. Another day in Sacramento.

The solution would be to increase the states reservoir capacity over the last few decades as demand for water grows.

Homeowners use so little water compared to agriculture that this fine is just feel good silliness. Agriculture uses 90+% of the water in this state, fining a home owner $500 for letting their sprinklers runs 10 minutes too long makes no difference. It is just another part of the liberal leadership fallacy.

Something must be done
This is something
Therefor it must be done

It wouldn't be wasting money on a bullet train. The pols had more than ample warning of this drought and failed miserably to plan ahead for this situation. Of course it appears much of the public had their heads where the sun doesn't shine too so plenty of blame to go around. Suck it folks and conserve water - you know take individual responsibility and not rely on the govt to do it for you.
Feel free to whine if you must......

Get used to burnt out lawns, dead shrubbery and empty swimming pools. The drought will only get worse. Here is a dire prediction:

Quote:
The El Niño had a very promising, dramatic surge in January, February and March, but now as we enter summer, all of a sudden it is disappearing,” said climatologist Bill Patzert, looking up from a dozen satellite images on his computer screen at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory near Pasadena. “The great wet hope is going to be the great wet disappointment.

We can use all the money from the fines and build a super pipeline from the east coast and relieve them of their excessive flood waters and seemingly constant rain.

Ya know this started as a joke post but when I consider all the jobs such a project could make across the country....
