People who say they're fine with immigration "as long as its done LEGALLY!!" very rarely have any idea of how difficult that process is, or the realities of the lives of people who choose to come in illegally.

They'll also very commonly refer to those people as "aliens" or "illegals", because if you can consider them as something less than human, it makes it so much easier to degrade them. Here's a tip: people cannot be illegal. They can do illegal things, but they are still people.

Here's an exceptionally easy to understand infographic about immigrating to America legally, and all of the ways it becomes next to impossible to do: http://infographiclist.files.wordpre...0963eaf8de.jpg

And here's a (slightly humorous) article written by someone who came across the border illegally as a child: 5 Things I Learned Sneaking Over the U.S.-Mexico Border | Cracked.com

Legal immigration is so much better for a number of reasons, but it is impossible for (I would venture to say) the majority of people to do. We need immigration reform to make the legal channels easier and more accessible, or we need to admit we're no longer a nation of immigrants, that we no longer welcome the tired and poor or the huddled masses yearning to be free, give up this dialogue of being the best and freest in the world, admit the American dream is dead, and get over ourselves.
Wow, just wow. So because a process is very difficult, you advocate BREAKING THE LAW instead?! Are you serious? What if someone thinks the process to get a job in CA is too difficult and they decide to get money an easier way by breaking the law and they rob a bank? By your logic, you must be ok with this. Unbelievable.

Most of the people I know do know how difficult the process is. Almost every legal immigrant I know (a ton) is against illegal immigration and allowing these children and others to stay here. My husband and his entire (large) family immigrated here as well, and they sacrificed a lot to do it the right way.

I live in Silicon Valley. The majority of my coworkers and many of my neighbors are legal immigrants, as is my wife. So I have a pretty good idea what they had to go through to get here. None of them have much sympathy for anyone who chooses the illegal route.

The reality is that if you have skills which are in demand, you can probably come here legally unless you have a criminal record or some major health issue such as AIDS. It may take a while, and there will be a ton of bureaucracy, but the same is true in most countries.

If you are unskilled, then it's practically impossible to come legally, and that's as it should be. We don't expect other countries to accept our unskilled, uneducated citizens, so why should we accept theirs? Yes, millions have already come here illegally, and they don't have easy lives, but the solution to this problem is to make it harder, not easier, to move here illegally. Maybe start with genuine enforcement of the laws against employing illegal immigrants. No jobs = very little incentive to move here.

My family immigrated to USA in 92, landed in LAX just one month before the LA riots. They did it the right way, wasn't easy though. The process took 7 years and alot of $$. Much later my father told me he was close to coming here illegally but he's glad that he didn't. Having said that it's unreal what these illegals are doing to this country. USA is the only country where illegals get more rights over citizens and this must change. But I feel it's already too late. I'm sick and tired of seeing illegal immigration issues come up everyday. All this does is divide this country apart from inside and out. If we have open borders what's the point of having border agents, ICE, and other federal agencies that enforce the law. I say either abolish all immigration agencies or I demand that they do their job.

Your (and much of America's) outrage and frustration is exactly why I posted the need to show up at this protest.

Nothing will be done to fix this until we ALL (black, white, Asian, and Hispanic) stand up together as Americans to protest what's happening. People are so afraid of being called a racist or anti-immigrant that they will be too afraid to show up - but sadly minorities have suffered the worse from the illegal invasion taking good jobs that Americans WILL do in construction, landscaping, food service, painting, car repair, etc. driving down wages and sending billions back to their countries in remittances every year that should be money staying here to build our economy - not there's.

Shocking video of CA border being overtaken by hundreds of organized gang and thugs attacking our border patrol who thankfully were able to stop them.
This is what will keep happening if CA doesn't come to terms with illegal invasion.
