What is the status on Canary Island Date Palms in California? The Most Majestic of all the Palms. I heard these palms could become extinct due to Fusarium Wilt.

The ones I run into (or I should say, the ones whose "fruit" I run into / step on) do not seem greatly affected by that disease. My suspicion is, in cases where people over water, there is high risk, but otherwise, much less risk. This reminds me of Sudden Oak Death Syndrome, also greatly worsened by overwatering / mixing "humid zone" landscaping with more semi arid types.
