They were also amazed they could afford to retire on the coast anywhere in CA. She said they'd actually had plans to move to Idaho, and just for grins did a little more Googling. It may become a retirement haven, who knows?

I always loved sunny skies until I moved to Redding. I actually got sick of the sun beating on me constantly. I like the mix here. No sun here today at all, but so far, there's been a little sunshine here and there to break up the cloudy days.

Hope your trip to LA is uneventful - in a good way.
I set up a job interview with sutter coast hospital a few days ago for jan 5 and may end up with the opportunity to move to crescdent city. my question for you is, how do you like it so far? any pleasant surprises or problems? any observations would be great. i've been there probably 30 times and like it alot although i can see some problems like some of the young people running around appear to be tweekers and trouble, also quite a few homeless which i don't mind these things so much because these things exist everywhere. also, do you see the isolation being a problem? I mainly mean with healthcare emergencies or even non emergencies but a lack of physicians. any ideas how it is there for children growing up? i've read that del norte high is rated high but not so much the grade schools. i imagine if young people want higher education that humbolt is the best option. also, i guess shopping is pretty much super walmart and then either eureka or medford. i know it rains lots there in the winter monthes but is mediteranian so no snow or freezing and not hot in the summer. one more thing, how about living arrangments, we really would want to rent a 3 bd single family, any idea on good resources for finding this? all i've been able to find is the triplicate and craigslist hombolt. like I said, any opinions are appreciated. best regards

hi, i know you kind of specialize in the rogue valley but figure you've probably been to crescent city and have some opinions on it.
