Nope. I simply disagree with you. I disagree with Jehova's Witnesses, too, and they're just as adamant that I'm being too stubborn to see the "truth."

Planning the garden this year surely will involve a heightened emphasis on water conservation.

We started getting sprinkles today around 2 pm and its been lightly sprinkling since, forecast is for about a foot of snow in the highest parts of the Sierra and 4 to 6 inches down to 5000 feet. Its been so warm and sunny here, that I am mowing more then typical. But I am not watering yet and started spreading compost on my lawns to help them retain moisture longer. I have been using my rain water stored in rain barrels to water the yard plants and this rain will fill them back up, all my rain barrels store 410 gallons of water and my two ponds retain 258 gallons together. I am planning on this year being worse then last year and if I am wrong, that would be great, but it is rather late in the year to expect to catch up without getting record breaking rain in March and April. Anything is possible, last year we were saved by a wet February and March of 2014 and December of 2014 gave us enough rain in the north to have us still above 80% of normal rainfall for this time of year.

One thing to note is this incoming wave is coming straight down from Yukon. The Rex Block has not really eased, it is simply that the Jet Stream is winding around it. Bad thing is, with such a long route over inland areas the systems have very little moisture. Any topping off of the meager pack will be very low moisture content powder (nice for skiing, for water management, not so much). I see no signs this pattern will ease. If anything, this will be a persistent pattern for weeks, and we'll have a double whammy of ongoing drought stress with the added "bonus" (not!) of late season freeze conditions.
