When I was in Oregon last June gas was 70 cents a gallon cheaper there.

I'm sure that you don't give a hoot that I used Costco your brain just won't let you process the fact that a red state like Idaho has more expensive gas than Roseville.

I can research it if you like using Gas Buddy app, but for some reason Costco right now is an anomaly right now. They always have good prices but are unusually low right now. $2.99/gallon in San Luis Obispo, but there are no other stations you can get below $3.49 or so.

So shooter..it doesn't seem like Taxi-fornia or whatever you want to call California today has significantly higher gas prices than any other state in the west, does it?
Here is a more accurate chart for you so you don't have to cherry pick certain Costco's that fit you agenda
State Prices | AAA's Daily Fuel Gauge Report

As you can see ca is second highest in the nation and 50 cents more a gallon than some nearby states and more than a gallon higher than others.

Just admit we get bent over on gas prices because of the policies enacted by elected officials which are usually democrats.

2sleepy, I find it quite strange that you use a Reg gas price for the state of CA based on $2.43/gal, that applies to Roseville, CA a very small population with the lowest Costco gasoline price in the state.

The average Costco price for regular gas in CA is approximately $2.90 per gallon. The bulk of California's population is well below Sacramento/San Jose where the Reg gas at Costco is $2.66/gal. In the Los Angeles-Orange County-San Diego area the average Costco Reg gas price is $2.96 to $2.99 per gallon, based on 8/31/15 Costco pricing data for regular gas in CA.

pick at the numbers all day if you want, I listed Roseville because that is the last place I bought gas and it is hardly a very 'small population', that Costco store probably serves 200,000 people. But when all is said and done, you are going to be left with an uncomfortable truth: In spite of what some of you would have us believe, gas is NOT $1 a gallon higher in California than it is in any other state in the US.

We are paying a dollar more a gallon than the bottom 1/3 of states.

State Prices | AAA's Daily Fuel Gauge Report

It doesn't lend to your credibility when you just make things up as you go along.

Depends on exactly where you are. Roseville looks like the cheapest in the state. Where we are it is more then $1 higher per gallon than many states.

Don't accuse me of making stuff up, because that is BS. In my initial post I said that it is disingenuous to compare gas prices with the likes of Missouri or Kansas, and even YOU should be able to see that the highest 6 states are all in the West:
Wyoming $2.782 $2.931 $3.116 $2.648
Utah $2.788 $2.921 $3.042 $2.584
Oregon $2.846 $3.009 $3.151 $2.798
Idaho $2.877 $3.018 $3.137 $2.752
Washington $2.947 $3.124 $3.244 $2.895
Hawaii $3.105 $3.233 $3.314 $4.470
Nevada $3.129 $3.295 $3.417 $2.791
California $3.346 $3.479 $3.582 $2.896
I got my figures for California by using three areas, Santa Rosa, Sacramento and Los Angeles. I am not sure what is driving the average so high for California, maybe San Francisco? but it is not typical of gas prices in the state.

The states with the lowest prices are generally in the midwest and south and that is due to the pipeline terminating there. Refiners unload gas there rather than truck much of it out of the area. Finish Keystone XL and those states will have significantly higher gas prices. Keystone admitted that part of their need to finish the pipeline was to make more money on gas being sold in those parts of the US.

Bottom line is, California gas is not significantly higher in most parts of the state than other Western States and if you want cheaper gas, move to a crap hole like Alabama.

I also included Santa Rosa and Los Angeles, or didn't you notice?

How about you pack up and move then shooter? I don't see too many people here begging you to stay, Mississippi or Alabama might be a perfect fit for you.
