That's considered 'full employment' by the Department of Labor.

California Unemployment Could Drop Below 4.9 Percent by 2017

A stunning turnaround for a state that had been happily written off by the East Coast media and Red State pundits.

What I think is stunning is the unemployment rate lie and the impact it has.

Good...but has the homeless rate decrease? Housing? Last time I checked, luxury condos and apartments still dominate the market in the two major metros (LA and Bay Area). This isn't healthy.

Really? What's the lie? I can't find people to fill jobs I have. If you have a college degree unemployment is even lower. My wife has been waiting for over 2 months to take her promotion but they can't get her job filled. I have a friend in Texas that would expand his company but can't find the workforce to get it up and running. None of these jobs are highly specialized or STEM jobs. The lie is there are some people who will denegrate and use fear to try and gain or retain power or push an ideology

Looks like you live in California, why are YOU asking about the homeless rate?

Isn't healthy for who? Pretty damn healthy for most people. Apparently.

It's still 7-8% unemployment in my county in the Central Valley - of course we'll probably be lost in those positive statistics...

I wonder how many people seeking employment are finding it. That's the number we need to instead track. For example, for every job opening at Google, 1,000 people apply.
