A barrel of gas is now trading for nearly $140. It was just a few months ago that oil cracked the $100/per barrel mark. One analyst predicted $150/barrel prices by the 4th of July. Gas is going to be $5/gallon before we know it. Good thing I don't drive that much.

Default Thrifty Gas is anything but!

On my way to work this morning, I took this photo (sorry it's blurry!):

And last night I took this:

Spooky picture, but the prices are truly hair-raising!

$4.43...when I filled up the tank of my mustang! Total? 55.00 But I am sure there are other horror stories that will make my 55 dollars look like I AM getting a deal here in Cali.

I heard on the radio the other day that, in terms of gas mileage, the difference between driving 55 and 65 is quite significant.
Back in the 70's when they slowed the speed limit down there wasn't alot of upset about it (again, if i'm remembering correctly).
But today with the increased speed of life and the increased "me first" selfish attitude, would people accept a lowering of the speed limit? I don't think so but i'm slowing down on my own.
not only that, there were A LOT LESS cars on the road in the 70s than now. so cal is over populated and the building of roads has not kept up with the very significant increase in cars on the road. my experience with so cal roads is that there really aren't that many opportunities to go over 55 due to all of the congestion anyway.

I watched them change the prices at the Shell station yesterday. They went from $4.55, $4.65, $4.75 to $4.59, $4.69, $4.79. And Diesel was somewhere in the high $5's but she hadn't changed that one yet.
