I know there was an ballot initiative to legalize recreation pot that failed in 2010. But since CO and WA legalized, why hasn't there been another attempt. Given how things have gone in CO, I would think it would pass now pretty easily.

Considering how things are going in Colorado it would be amazing if any state is stupid enough to pass a law like Colorado's!

The reason visitors to CO are ending up in the ER is because they're visiting. They wouldn't be if pot wasn't legal. I'm not hearing anyone looking to overturn the legalization in there.

In any case, this isn't about the pros and cons of legalization. CA started this process with medical legalization. CA north of SF is pot heaven, and has been for decades. And if vast amounts are grown up north, vast amounts are smoked all over the state.

It would seem that legalization would have a lot of political support, and there is lots of big money chomping at the bit to get legalization. I'm just wondering why it hasn't been pushed through already.

Although Colorado has had medical cannabis since 2000, the ability to qualify for it was way more restrictive than California's policy (1996). So for Colorado, at full legalization there was a "gold rush" for the green rush.

Pot is legal here now. All you have to do is say you have a backache and you can get so called medical marijuana.

I lived in CO for about a year. It's not a problem there. If anything, it's considered great, and every resident I ever talked to was happy about it. There are millions of tax dollars being made as well. Don't listen to the fear mongers. Pot will eventually be legal everywhere in the country, and that's a wonderful thing.
