Currently we live in east coast, and we are thinking to move to west coast, such as California, Colorado, Nevada, Utah or Arizona. We have a 6 years old son with autism and we are trying to find the state with a great autism support for him. This will helps us to decide where we should move. I will appreciate if you can share your experiences with details of services/support of autism that you receive from the school. Thanks

California is a huge state, with over 1,000 school districts, each with its own support programs, plus there are many other support programs and private schools for kids on the spectrum scattered throughout California. And, of course, each child has their own individual needs for support.

So, your question is very difficult to answer for the entire state.

You will get more helpful responses by telling folks which area(s) in California you are considering for your move and/or perhaps posting your question in the individual sub-forums above for the part(s) of California you are interested in.

Tip: When posting on City Data, it is always a good idea to also mention your maximum housing budget, as it won't be helpful to have people tell you that a district where home prices start at $1 million is the "best" for autism services, when your housing budget is under $500,000.

I'd also suggest using the advanced search function at the head of the forum -- enter the word autism as your search word, and then limit the search to California. That will turn up some previous discussions in the sub-forums that might be helpful to you. You can do the same for the other states you are considering as well.

Even so, you're unlikely to find a ton of parents of kids on the spectrum on City Data, so if you haven't already, you might want to try posting on some of the support forums elsewhere that are geared for parents of kids on the spectrum.

Some of these sites -- which you may have already looked at -- may also be starting points for information on California, depending on your child's individual needs:
