Why do people not question our CA government on their inability to make a proper budget for the state? What happened to the original funds meant to go towards infrastructure? Instead we are making excuses for their self interest of staying elected. And they still have the audacity to set aside $30 million for illegal aliens, where's the help for homeless? There are no votes gained by helping them. Janet Napolitano wants to sue Trump for ending DACA, an already illegal program, while she knowingly squanders millions of dollars for herself. Why she not removed from that position and in jail? It's crazy how Dems are being played for fools, all in the name of racism and #resisttrump.

If I can't get decent housing or healthcare, then I don't give a hoot about smooth roads. And if your property taxes can get reassessed every year, so you have no idea if you will eventually have to sell your home because you can no longer pay your taxes - I guess those smooth roads will take you to another state in comfort, temporarily.

I don't know the specifics about AZ, but my point is that you have to look at everything. Smooth roads alone isn't the entire picture of how taxes are collected, or distributed, or capped, etc.
That's been done many times over.

So, unless you are willing to live frugally on some type of govt program CA isn't all that.

Even then it is hard. Section 8 housing helps some, but try and get a rental. The waiting list is long. If someone is in it, has enough to get by on and isn't stuck somewhere away in the sticks, it can be good.

Illegals cost Californians $30 BILLION a year -- almost 18% of total budget.
They need to get the money from somewhere to support millions of illegals.....

California is the perfect example of why democracy is the stupidest system ever to roam planet earth.

Gotta love putting the future of the country in the hands of the dumbest people.

Intelligent people make up maybe 30% of the population of this state, why would we allow 70% to make the decisions?

Nope, the problem is with one party rule. Either party.

Oh, hopefully they have improved this one as it doesn't appear to be all that smooth.

Someone mentioned that you pay for what you get, basically. True, but in that case, California shouldn't have homeless roaming every corner and potholes every ten yards. The state makes plenty of money, perhaps government officials should learn how to use it correctly? Here's the issue, a lot of people voting are here as "transplants", thus they are only looking out for themselves and not the long term health of this state. The state is full of dreamers not achievers and that's an issue.....a huge issue.

And descendants of illegals, who are voting citizens and who want to keep the door open for more of their friends and family. Plus as you note, move ins from other States who have not had to deal with what single party rule has done to CA.
