There should be plenty of time for parents to evaluate what you do for your kids future, not some govt regulation.
Ah the wisdom of bumper stickers, eh? “S**t happens

Restrictions on new housing plus new immigration restricts the supply, you can thank the demographic of wealthy homeowners with ""we believe"" signs on their front lawns. Why should American millennials leave California so boomers can live out their golden years than eventually sell their homes to foreigners?

If 9 million illegal aliens that come here with nothing can make it happen surely millennials can too. The wealthy city types want this illegal immigration so they have someone to cut their lawns. Big Cities vote blue unless you know something everyone else doesn't.

Sounds like a self made problem doesn't it.

California real estate is going to be bought up by either Black Rock or wealthy Chinese investors if the NIMBY issue is not resolved.

Immigrants have patronage networks while liberal White boomers imposed a mentality of radical individualism, "go find yourself in the world" with no birth right for their decedents.

Well, here's the bad news. There is never going to be "affordable housing" on the left coast. The sooner everyone comes to grips with that we can move on. Houses always go to the highest bidder and if that's a Chinese investor so be it. It would make more sense to me to go chase that problem than trying to solve something that will never be solved.

It is because of policy, primarily zoning with other factors including immigration and private equity firms.

Most of us value what's left of our open spaces and even the ones that don't (cough LA) STILL don't have affordable housing. So building in every canyon isn't going to let the average Joe afford to live here.
