California Assembly just passed a bill to allow 17 year olds to vote.

This doesn't bode well for Prop 13. Juniors in high school don't give a crap about Property tax shields.

They're going to see "Free Health Care Funding Measure" on the ballot and check "YES PLEASE" and do it with a smile. A very big socialist smile.

Gavin Newsom will be reelected by this same person.
Chances are a great number of those 23-year-old students don't bother to vote at all. Many receive help from their parents, some are homeless and struggling and a good number of them live at home until they finish community college, then transfer to a state college or university. By and large, they don't make up the majority of voters. It's a whole other group who will determine if Prop 13 is dismantled and they already have the money to survive it.

And as for your additional post, giving 17-year-olds the right to vote is a stupid idea. They haven't got the brains the good lord gave 'em. No life experience, had a roof over their head, thanks to their parents. If anything, raise the age to 25 because even some 21-year-olds are dumb as a rock and have not business even touching a voting ballot.

Besides, students aren't going to be the ones benefiting from it, it will go into the pocket of unions and government pensions.

If this one person had the power to elect officials and pass ballots on one vote he should find some lobbyists to make him the richest man in the state.

The Millenial voting bloc is huge in California.

Add in some ballot harvesting, and you have a huge push towards accomplishing the socialist utopia that guy like Newsom want and that isn't going to happen if Prop 13 is intact.

The best kind of voters if you're looking for people who don't read, know anything, and can be mislead easily especially by a K-12 system that is fairly one sided ideologically.

It's comprised of those ranging in age from 23 to 38, and many of the mid to older Millennials are homeowners, who would prefer not to give up Prop 13.
